Isotonic: increase in load on the
muscles (concentric and eccentric muscle contractions).
Isometric: Muscles generates force
without changing length (ex: plank).
Isokinetic: the speed of the movement
is fixed and the resistance varies with force exerted (needs special
equipment).
Concentric: muscle is shortening during
contraction.
Eccentric: muscle is contracting while lengthening.
